 Pick a a 20 minute mp3 audio file at left - each is same skill level and each focuses on Thai words that have been adapted from English and other languages.  Each program offers commentary on a different set of about 50 words.

      Did you know the words 'rim'  'slope'  'cement' have the same meaning in Thai as in English?  There are hundreds of other English words that have been adapted to the Thai language - and a couple dozen taken from other languages; example; ....  madam (from French)  giraffe (from Arabic)  fjord (from Norwegian)  tsunami (from Japanese)  apartheid (from Dutch), ...the list goes on.
 
My name is Ken Albertsen and I'm your host. Each show introduces a new set of nearly 50 words - all culled from my 'learn Thai' book titled: "600 Words Taken From English".  Stay tuned as the shows become available in succession - for free listening by anyone.
